PAST - The Piedmont Archaeological Studies Trust is a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation dedicated to illuminating our prehistoric and historic understanding of the Piedmont and Blue Ridge of the Carolinas. Its primary goals are to further archaeological research, education, and outreach.

Mission

Significant archaeological resources, that can yield priceless information about past cultures and lifeways in the South Carolina Upstate, are rapidly disappearing. Once gone, they are gone forever. The Piedmont Archaeological Studies Trust (PAST) is a non-profit organization dedicated to understanding the culture history and past lifeways of the South Carolina Upstate over the past 13,000 years. The PAST seeks to accomplish its mission through supporting and conducting professional and scientific survey, excavation, analysis, publication and digital dissemination of findings from significant prehistoric and historic-period archaeological sites in the Piedmont and Blue Ridge Mountain regions of South Carolina. The PAST is motivated to act by the dearth of archaeological investigations conducted in the Upstate, coupled with accelerating population growth and development that threatens the regions archeological resources. To accomplish our mission, public support is essential. We are asking you, as concerned citizens, to help us retrieve South Carolina’s unwritten history while there is still an opportunity. You can do this by making a tax-deductible contribution to the PAST. You need to know about vogueplay
